Now Manage Your Time On Social Apps, Facebook And Instagram Added New Features


Facebook and Instagram are adding another dashboard which disclose that how much time you've spent inside their applications, it also include tools for setting daily limits and turning off push notifications for limited time.


The new group of features, known as "Your time on Facebook" and "Your activity" on Instagram, are developed to address worries that addictive response loops integrates with social applications have been adverse for users well-being. These features will be launched globally for all users within couple of weeks. The move has been expected since last month when the screenshots are leaked.

To find the new features on Facebook:
1) Tap the button with three vertical lines in the bottom-right corner of the app
2) Scroll down to "Your time on Facebook" and tap.

To find the new features on Instagram:
1) Go to settings menu
2) Find the "Your activity" and tap.

"We want these tools to be widely available to the whole community, and to anyone that would benefit from using them," said Ameet Ranadive, who leads a team at Instagram. Ranadive also said that the organization felt required to make the dashboard accessible the although there is risk that could lead decrease in the usage of both applications, Facebook and Instagram.

The dashboard shows the time that you have spent in each application over the past seven days through bar chart. You can easily set the time limit according to your desire that you want to spend in application.

Facebook and other tech organizations have confronted extreme feedback over the previous year for how forcefully they court their users attention whole day. In December, through research, Facebook recognized that passive utilization of the News Feed could make people not good. At the start of this year, Google and Apple added new level features to Android and iOS, respectively, to enable users to see how much time they spend in applications and to limit that time.

Ameet Ranadive also predict that more features of Facebook and Instagram are under research that could come in upcoming months that the users would like to see.
